In addition to the celebration of Holy Mass, a proper devotional life is essential to growing in our Catholic Faith. Spiritual Devotions are often more focused individually, but definitely require a communal component as well. Throughout the liturgical year we foster different communal devotions often coinciding with the liturgical season.
We continually want to increase our devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary who leads us to her Son. So we sing the traditional Marian antiphons after all Masses thoruhgout Advent, Lent, and Easter. Outside of those seasons, we pray a simple "Hail Mary" after all Masses.
After the Marian prayer we pray the St. Michael the Archangel Prayer. The text of that prayer is:
"Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen."
