The bond of a man and woman in holy matrimony is a great gift God has given to the human race in order to show forth the true communion of persons founded in covenantal love and ordered to the procreation and raising of children. This bond is the basis of the family, which in turn is the basis of society.  It is a great blessing as well as a great responsibility.
