The Church in the United States is transitioning from the Diocesan to the Parish Phase of the Eucharistic Renewal. Officially it starts on Corpus Christi (June 11). In the days afterward we will have mystagogy sessions to help us make the Eucharist the source and summit of our lives (more on that when the time comes). Between now and then, I will offer brief Eucharistic quotes or reflections in this column. I ask you to take time each week to pray with them helping us all prepare for Corpus Christi and beyond.
How has the Lord shown me His True Presence?
Do I truly believe that the Holy Eucharist is the transubstantiated Presence of the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ?
What specific acts of devotion do I show for the Holy Eucharist?
In what ways am I brought into deeper communion with our Lord and His Church?
How does the Holy Eucharist influence my everyday life?
The following questions especially are our focus for the mystagogy sessions:
How does the Holy Eucharist form our St. Paul Parish community?
Does it lead us to greater corporal and spiritual works of mercy?
What concrete acts can this parish do to foster a truly Eucharistic spirituality?
Please take time in prayer with these questions. Then after Masses on June 17,18 for a mystagogy session. For those who cannot remain, there will be another opportunity on Monday June 19 at 6pm in the PAC. More details will come but it would be wonderful for people to participate by sharing their thoughts on this Eucharistic renewal with other parishioners.
